The ARRI M90 9,000W HMI High Speed Kit is a powerful daylight system designed to fill the gap between the M40.25 and the ARRIMAX 18/12, delivering the punch of a larger source in a compact, production-friendly package. Built around the 9,000W M90 HMI Head and paired with a dedicated 6/9K high speed electronic ballast, this system is engineered for stable output and flicker-free performance for high speed shooting up to 1,000 frames per second.
High-Speed Daylight Output for Film and Broadcast
Designed for demanding sets, the M90 delivers 9,000W of daylight-balanced HMI output with ARRI’s lens-less MAX Technology for efficient, high-quality light. In practical terms, it offers light output that matches a 12 kW PAR (with lens), while remaining as small and lightweight as a 6 kW PAR, making it easier to rig when you need big-source performance without stepping up to an ARRIMAX package.
Beam Control and Rigging-Friendly Design
The M90 is focusable from 16° to 49°, allowing fast changes from a tighter punch to broader coverage without changing fixtures. Cross-cooling supports safe operation up to a 90° tilt position (as specified), and tilt locks on both sides help secure heavier accessories. The fixture is rated to IP23 for added protection in typical production environments.
System Compatibility and Power Options
The M90 introduces a 9,000 W power class with new 9,000 W lamps sized like 6,000 W lamps, and it can also be used with 6,000 W lamps and ballasts. It uses existing 6 kW cables, supporting easier integration into established HMI workflows and cable inventories. The system also lists a possibility to operate at 1,000 Hz, supporting specialized high-speed requirements.
