The Obsidian NETRON RP2 is an intelligent, 2-way DMX power relay designed to automate and protect fixture power in permanent installs, rental rigs, and architectural lighting systems. By switching power only when it is needed, the RP2 helps reduce idle power draw and supports better long-term reliability by minimizing unnecessary on-time.
Automated Fixture Power Control (DMX, RDM, and Standalone)
RP2 features optional smart power sequencing and DMX traffic detection, allowing fully automated relay control based on DMX status. Simply turn the console on or off, and the system can follow along. For setups that need automation without a console, an internal clock enables standalone control, including a 24-hour, 7-day scheduler. For example, you can automatically shut down fixtures at midnight to prevent excessive power on time.
Dual High-Current Relays for Two Independent Outputs
Two independent power outputs are controlled by high current dual pole relays, ensuring complete removal of power from the circuit. Auto power sequencing is available with an adjustable time delay, which can help manage inrush current and bring devices online in a controlled order.
Live Power Monitoring and Diagnostics
With current sensing per output, the RP2 displays real-time power consumption and logs peak power usage per port. This information can be viewed locally on the integrated 1.3 inch OLED display with rotary encoder, or remotely monitored via RDM support. For troubleshooting, the RP2 also provides actual, highest, and lowest received voltage readings for diagnostics.
Installation-Friendly Hardware
Built for indoor use, the RP2 uses a powder-coated compact metal housing and supports surface, truss, DIN-rail, and standalone mounting. It supports 100-240 V nominal operation (47/63 Hz), including 208V and Delta power systems, and is rated for 16A (USA) and 16A (EU).
