The EAW MicroWedge MW12 is a professional stage monitor designed for clear, controlled onstage sound in live performance and touring environments. This collaboration between original MicroWedge Series inventor Dave “Rat” Levine (founder of Rat Sound Systems, Inc.) and the EAW Engineering Department focuses on improved performance and monitor-friendly ergonomics, making it a strong fit for vocals, instruments, and playback that need consistent coverage at close range.

Coaxial Monitor Design for Consistent Coverage

The MW12 coaxial design pairs a 12-inch woofer with a 3-inch voice-coil compression driver, helping vocals and instruments translate with a unified, point-source character. Its 90-degree conical dispersion (90 x 90) is designed to keep coverage even across the performer’s listening position, which is especially useful on crowded stages where performers move and mic placement changes.

Output, Frequency Range, and Amplification Options

With a frequency response of 64 Hz to 20 kHz and a maximum SPL of 140 dB, the MW12 is built for high-output monitoring when stage volume is demanding. It supports single-amp LF/HF operation or bi-amp LF and HF operation, and includes high pass filter and DSP with 2-way filters for system tuning and crossover flexibility depending on your amplifier and processing workflow.

Connections and Core Specs

Power handling is rated at 600W @ 8 ohms full range (LF: 600W @ 8 ohms, HF: 150W @ 8 ohms). Connections are via NL4 input/loop for straightforward daisy-chaining.
