RTS PS-31 Power Supply
Description
The RTS PS-31 Power Supply provides 32 volts of regulated DC power to three intercom channels, supporting reliable operation in professional RTS-style wired intercom systems. Designed for continuous duty, it includes short circuit and thermal overload protection with automatic recovery once the fault condition is removed.

Program Input and Channel Assignment
A dedicated program input connector on the rear panel lets you feed program audio into the system. Use the front-panel channel assign switch to route the program to any of the three channels, then set an appropriate feed level with the front-panel level control.
Status Indicators and Overload Alerts
The PS-31 provides clear fault visibility for fast troubleshooting. A red FAULT indicator flashes to show a current overload on any channel, and an audible alarm can be enabled or disabled via the front-panel AUDIBLE ALERT switch (the FAULT indication continues regardless). Each channel also has a green status indicator that remains lit during normal operation and turns off during an overload condition. During overload, output current is automatically reduced, and normal operation resumes when the overload is cleared.
Rear-Panel Connectivity and Termination
Intercom channel connections are made on the rear panel, with multiple connector pin-outs available to accommodate different system wiring requirements. Each channel also includes selectable terminating impedance using a rear-panel 200/400 ohm IMPEDANCE SELECT switch. The 200 ohm setting is used for normal operation, while the 400 ohm setting allows two PS-31 units to be coupled to increase the system’s DC capacity.

- Program Input: There is a program input connector on the rear panel. A channel assign switch on the front panel assigns the program to any of the three channels. A level control adjusts the program level to the intercom channel.
- Status Indicator:
- There is an audible alarm and a red FAULT indicator for current overload indication on any of the three channels. An AUDIBLE ALERT switch on the front panel turns the alarm on or off, but the FAULT indicator will continue to flash during current overload conditions. There is also a green status indicator for each channel. Each of these indicators will remain lit during normal operation, but will turn off during a channel current overload condition. Output current is automatically reduced during an overload, and normal operation is restored when the overload is removed.
- Intercom Channel Connections: Intercom channels are connected to the rear panel of the PS31. A variety of connector pin-outs is provided to accommodate individual system requirements.
- Impedance Selection: The PS31 provides the required channel terminating impedance for each channel. A 200/400 ohm IMPEDANCE SELECT switch for each channel is located on the rear panel. These switches are set to 200 ohms for normal operation. The 400 ohm setting permits two PS31's to be coupled to double the DC capacity of the system.
