The ROBE ROBIN DL4S Profile is an RGBW LED profile luminaire built for precision beam shaping, smooth fades, and consistent dimming in theatre, broadcast, corporate, and touring rigs. To magnify the already perfectly smooth colours, fades and dimming, the DL4S features innovative LED driving system for improved, extremely high definition dimming curve for all R, G, B, W colours, with 18 bit resolution.

High-Definition Dimming and Clean LED Optics

The DL4S adds a system of 4 fast, smooth, framing shutters within the optical path design of the proven DLS Profile format. There is individual control of each shutter blade position and angle, together with rotation of the complete framing module. As well as providing a sharp precise or soft frame for the projected image, the system produces a new series of effects through pre-programmed shutter blade shape and movement sequences. As with all models in the Robe DL luminaire range, the multiple shadows normally associated with an LED source have been eliminated.

RGBW Output with Tunable Whites and Tungsten Emulation

The enhanced Robe RGBW LED light source reproduces both rich and pastel colours at output levels normally associated with 1200 W discharge fixtures as well as pure whites at preselected 2700, 3200, 4200, 5600 and 8000 K colour temperatures. The tungsten emulation function allows the fixture to be integrated seamlessly into lighting schemes with existing traditional lanterns.

Effects, Framing, and Beam Control for Programming Flexibility

Built around a 480 W RGBW LED engine (20,000-hour life expectancy), the DL4S is designed to cover everything from crisp key light to textured aerial and scenic looks. A motorized zoom spans 10 degrees (gobo position) to 45 degrees (free hole), with motorized focus for quick changes between hard-edged and soft looks. For beam shaping and effects, it includes a rotating gobo wheel with 7 rotating, indexable, replaceable “SLOT&LOCK” metal gobos plus open, an aluminium animation wheel, a motorized iris (including pulse effects up to 3 Hz), a rotating 3-facet 11 degree prism, and a separate variable frost filter. Strobe effects are available up to 20 flashes per second max.

Control, Networking, and Rig Integration

It supports DMX-512 and RDM, plus ArtNet, MA Net, MA Net2, and sACN for modern networked control workflows. Choose from 47, 38, or 36 channel DMX modes, with 8 or 16-bit control available across key parameters (including pan/tilt, mixing, zoom, focus, and dimmer) for either fast operation or fine precision. Pan and tilt movement provide 540 degrees pan and 280 degrees tilt, with tracking and vector movement control.

Onboard Operation and Service-Friendly Design

Setup and troubleshooting are streamlined via the Colour Touch Screen with ROBE Navigation System 2 (RNS2), plus battery backup and a built-in analyser for easy fault finding. Connectivity includes locking 3-pin and 5-pin XLR and RJ45 data in/out, with Neutrik PowerCon power connection (cable supplied). Physical dimensions are 678 mm (height, head in vertical position) by 388 mm (width) by 480 mm (depth, head in horizontal position), and weight is 22.7 kg (48.5 lbs).
