The Luminex GigaCore 16Xt is a Gigabit Ethernet switch built to handle demanding lighting and AV networks for touring and live events. It’s managed through an intuitive web interface and can also be configured from the front-end display, so you can deploy, monitor, and adjust your show network quickly without extra software.
Built for Pro AV and Lighting Networks
Designed for real-world production workflows, the GigaCore 16Xt supports a wide range of entertainment and installed-audio networking standards, including Avnu AVB/MILAN, Dante, RAVENNA/AES67, Q-SYS/Q-LAN, REAC, sACN, ArtNet, MA-Net2, HogNet, and more. It also supports IEEE 802.1p CoS and DiffServ (DSCP) for traffic prioritization, plus IEEE 1588 PTP v2 for timing-sensitive systems.
Redundancy, Segmentation, and Link Aggregation
For resilience and clean network design, the switch includes RLinkX link redundancy, VLAN segmentation via Groups, and MultiLinkX link aggregation. A built-in profile manager helps streamline configuration across different event or venue setups.
Connectivity and Performance for Show-Critical Traffic
The switch provides 12 x shielded Neutrik Ethercon Gigabit ports for rugged copper connectivity and 4 x SFP cages for fiber uplinks or longer runs. It features 32 Gbps switching throughput, an 8192-entry MAC address table, and jumbo frame support (MTU up to 9600). IGMP (v1/v2/v3) and IGMP snooping are supported, with snooping enabled by default to help manage multicast traffic common in AV-over-IP workflows. Port sensing supports auto negotiation, MDI/MDIX auto crossover, and full/half duplex (Gigabit is full duplex).
Standards and Physical Details
Ethernet compliance includes IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x Flow Control, and 802.3ab Gigabit Ethernet. A serial RJ45 console port is provided for direct access. The chassis is 19 inches wide and 1.73 inches high (482 x 204.3 x 44 mm), and weighs 6.61 lbs (3 kg).
