The MA Lighting grandMA2 Full-Size (8GB) is a flagship lighting control console built for programming and operating conventional dimmers, moving lights, LED fixtures, and media playback from a single platform. Designed for fast, show-ready workflow in touring, theater, broadcast, corporate events, and installed venues, it combines hands-on playback, multi-screen programming, and scalable processing for complex rigs.
Show Programming and Playback Workflow
Equipped with modern hardware and console-specific usability features (including an integrated keyboard drawer and a multi-touch command screen), the grandMA2 is built for intuitive operation under live conditions. The layout keeps command keys consistent across the grandMA2 series, helping operators move between consoles with less re-learning. For long-running productions and detailed cueing, it supports extremely flexible programming with nearly infinite numbers of presets, cues, pages, sequences, and effects.
System Capacity and Expandability
For larger sessions, the console provides real-time control for up to 65,536 parameters per session in connection with MA NPU (equivalent to 256 DMX universes). It also supports 8,192 HTP/LTP parameters and includes 6 DMX outputs for direct network-to-stage integration. Two etherCON connectors and five USB 2.0 ports provide practical connectivity for typical show setups and peripherals.
Hands-On Control and Displays
The surface is designed for tactile, repeatable playback with 30 motorized executor faders, plus two motorized 100 mm A/B faders. Visual feedback is supported by three internal 15.4" WXGA TFT wide-mode touchscreens, and up to two external TFT displays can be connected (UXGA, touchscreens accepted). An internal 9" SVGA multi-touch command screen is also included. Keys are individually backlit, dimmable, and silent (clickless) for low-noise environments.
Touring-Ready Construction Details
Practical console features include a built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for added resilience, plus a motorized monitor wing. Physical specifications are 50.6" x 26" x 8", with a weight of 101 lbs.
Compatibility Note
Moreover grandMA 'series 1'-showfiles can be converted to be used with the grandMA2.
