The BrightSign HD1010 Player is a standalone digital signage and kiosk controller that plays content from standard Flash memory cards. Use it with most standard or high-definition monitors or TVs to run continuous video or image loops for unattended displays.

Because BrightSign has no moving parts, it is durable, reliable, and an ideal replacement for a PC in information kiosks, tradeshows, retail displays, and other applications. BrightSign enables you to maintain or improve the quality of your presentations. Using professional-quality decoding and scaling, BrightSign delivers crisp, clean, high-definition still images as well as 1920x1080 video from your high-definition MPEG sources.

Media Formats and Video Output Options

The HD1010 supports MPEG-2 transport streams with MP3 audio (TS), along with common still-image formats including BMP, PNG, and JPEG (JPG). For audio, it supports AC3 pass through and MP3 decode out to analog and SPDIF, making it easier to match your content to the display and sound system you already have.

Supported display resolutions include 1024x768 and 1360x768 via HDMI and VGA, plus 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080i via HDMI and component, and 1080p via HDMI. Video outputs include HDMI out, VGA, and component out for compatibility with a wide range of screens.

Connectivity, Control, and Interactivity

Connect peripherals through two high-speed USB host ports, with USB device support for touchscreen, speakers, mouse, keyboard, trackball, barcode scanner, and USB hub support. For networking and integration, the player includes a 10/100 ethernet jack, RS-232 serial port, a DB25 control port (for buttons and LEDs), and a 1/8” 5V serial port.

Playback features include autoplay and looping video support, playlists, interactive playlists (CSV files), and scheduling playback. The front panel includes a power LED, SD flash card slot (up to 4 GB cards), SDHC flash card slot, and LEDs for connector activity and video mode.
