The MA Lighting grandMA2 Light is a versatile lighting control console built to run conventional fixtures, moving lights, LEDs, video, and media from one surface, with an interface designed for fast programming and responsive playback. It can handle an almost infinite number of presets, cues, pages, sequences and effects, making it a practical choice for touring, theatres, houses of worship, and production environments that need deep show control and quick access to playback.
It is ideally suited as a backup device for the grandMA2 full-size, while still offering substantial hands-on control for day-to-day operation.
Control Surface and Workflow
The grandMA2 Light provides tactile playback and programming tools for live operation, including 15 motorized executor faders, 2 motorized A/B faders (100mm), individually backlit and dimmable silent (clickless) keys, and an integrated keyboard drawer. A built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) helps protect the session and supports continued operation during brief power interruptions.
Displays and Connectivity
For flexible programming layouts, the console includes 2 internal TFT wide mode touchscreens (15.4" WXGA) plus 1 internal command screen (multi-touch, 9" SVGA). It also supports expanding the workspace with 2 external TFT screens (UXGA, touchscreens accepted). Connectivity includes 2 Ethercon connectors and 5 USB 2.0 connectors for integrating into typical show networks and accessory workflows.
Output and System Capacity
With 6 DMX outputs and support for 4,096 HTP-/LTP parameters, the grandMA2 Light is ready for multi-universe rigs. In connection with an MA NPU, it supports real-time control for up to 65,536 parameters per session (equivalent to 256 DMX universes), providing a scalable path for larger productions that need additional parameter capacity while keeping the same grandMA2 operating environment.
