Built as a profile LED automated luminaire for stage, theatre, broadcast, and live event rigs, the ROBIN Esprite delivers high-output white light with precision beam shaping, fast focus, and repeatable color control for everything from crisp key light to textured aerial looks.

The ESPRITE Profile LED automated luminaire has a fast-change, lowcost, transferable light engine ingeniously solving the problem of performance longevity for those preferring the higher brightness of white source LEDs as an obvious replacement for their aging stock of discharge workhorses.

Light output and color control

The high-performance engine is designed for maximum light output and stable color characteristics, with an LED engine output of 55,000 lm and fixture total lumen output of 34,000 lm (integrating sphere) or 27,000 lm (goniophotometer). It provides a 6,700 K color temperature and CRI 70, with remotely selectable CRI 80 and CRI 90 filters when color fidelity is a priority. For mixed-source rigs, the fixture offers full CMY mixing (Cyan 0-100%, Magenta 0-100%, Yellow 0-100%), variable CTO from 3,000K to 6,700K, and ChromaTint (plus/minus green correction) to help match other luminaires and camera requirements. Two color wheels (each with 5 fixed dichroic colors plus white) add quick-access, repeatable color choices.

Optics, zoom, and framing for precise projection

Robe’s proprietary optical design uses a high-efficiency 13-lens zoom system with a 9:1 ratio and a zoom range of 5.5° to 50°, supporting tight beams for long throws or wider fields for coverage. The 150 mm output lens and motorized zoom and focus help maintain sharp edges and gobo definition across common trim heights.

For accurate shaping, the fixture includes the patented Plano4 framing shutters module with 4 individually positionable blades, plus rotation of the complete frame system (+/- 60°). This makes it well suited for clean shutter cuts, set pieces, and architectural masking on stage.

Effects and texture tools

Build layered looks with a rotating gobo wheel (7 rotating, indexable, replaceable breakup and aerial gobos plus open, slot & lock system), a static gobo wheel (9 static, replaceable gobos plus open), and an aluminum animation wheel that can run alone or combined with gobos, rotating in both directions at variable speed. Additional effects include a 6-facet prism (bi-directional variable speed), a motorized iris with stepless control and pulse effects up to 3 Hz, and an electronic strobe up to 20 Hz.

For beam softening and wash-like diffusion, the MagFrost magnetic paddle fast change system includes a very light 1° frost for subtle edge softening and a medium 5° frost for more even wash output. Optional Hot-Spot adjustment provides a range from flat field to 6:1 hot-spot.

Dimming and camera-friendly performance

High resolution electronic dimming provides 0-100% control, with L3 (Low Light Linearity) imperceptible 18-bit dimming for smooth fades to black. Cpulse flicker-free management is intended for HD and UHD cameras, ready for 8K and 16K, helping reduce visible flicker in filmed or streamed environments.

Maintenance-minded design

AirLOC (Less Optical Cleaning) technology reduces airborne particles drawn over optical elements, helping maintain light quality and extending the time between routine cleaning and maintenance.
