Replacing the much loved Wholehog III, the High End Systems Hog 4 Console embraces the latest technology while retaining the Hog's familiar control surface. It is built for professional lighting control in live events, touring, venues, and permanent installations, so operators can walk up and start programming without learning a completely new interface. New encoders, a jog shuttle wheel, LCD keys, motorized faders, and an integrated keyboard are designed to keep programming fast and the surface highly customizable for different workflows.

Programming Surface and Playback Control

The Hog 4 combines tactile control with clear visual feedback for busking, cueing, and playback-heavy shows. The console includes two internal 17-inch wide screen touchscreens with 10 point multi-touch, plus support for three external monitors or touchscreens to expand your workspace for palettes, playback, and patching. A five-encoder wheelset, dedicated Intensity and Rate wheels, and a user-assignable Jog Shuttle encoder provide precise parameter control, while ten motorized playback faders and one motorized Grand Master help keep critical playbacks exactly where you expect them during a show.

Connectivity for Single-Console and Networked Systems

For flexible system design, the console provides three monitor outputs, MIDI input and output ports, 8 USB ports, and 2 Fast Ethernet ports on a rugged Neutrik Ethercon connector. Hog-Net and Fixture-Net Ethernet connectors support networking for larger rigs, including multi-console setups with full network backups, making it suitable for everything from a compact industrial job to stadium shows, theme parks, or Broadway-scale programming environments.

Built-In Processing and Practical Touring Details

Inside the console, the built in DMX Processor 8000 supports reliable output for demanding productions. Additional details like storage space beneath the arm rest, desklights and feedback LEDs, and an integrated worklight (all dimmable) help keep the surface usable in dark control positions. The auto-ranging mains input (90-250VAC) supports typical power requirements across many venues.
