The ROBE ROBIN BMFL WashBeam is a moving head wash/beam fixture built for high-output beam presence and flexible aerial looks, with a wide 180 mm front lens and a custom light source designed for Robe. It produces an astounding 300.000 lux at 5 metres, making it well-suited for concerts, touring rigs, and large stages where punch and long-throw visibility matter.

Optics and color for beam-to-wash versatility

Dial in the look quickly with motorized zoom and focus, plus a variable CTO range from 2.700 to 6.000 K for matching cameras or balancing against other fixtures. CMY color mixing (cyan, magenta, yellow each 0 to 100 percent) is complemented by two color wheels: one with six fixed dichroic colors (deep red, deep blue, orange, green, magenta, congo blue plus white) and a second wheel with six replaceable “SLOT&LOCK” colors (pink, lavender, laser green, 9.000 K CTB, minus half and minus green plus white). With a CRI of 92+, it is also a strong option when color quality on faces, scenic elements, and broadcast camera is a priority.

Gobos, animation, and in-air effects

Create layered aerial textures and surface projections using the rotating gobo wheel with six rotating, indexable, replaceable “SLOT&LOCK” glass gobos plus open. An aluminum animation wheel can be used alone or combined with gobos, rotating in both directions at variable speed, for dynamic mid-air movement and evolving background looks. A motorized iris supports stepless control and pulse effects up to 3 Hz for tight beams and rhythmic accents.

Framing, frost, and precise output control

For shaping and masking, the framing system includes four individually positionable shutter blades and complete frame rotation of plus or minus 45 degrees. The shutter system is a separate dual blade design with variable strobe up to 10 Hz and full blackout, while the optimized dual blade dimmer delivers smooth fades. Frost options include variable Light and Medium, plus a replaceable Heavy frost (two additional frosts included), letting you soften the beam into wider, more even washes when the scene calls for it.

Movement and power details

Pan and tilt cover 540 degrees and 270 degrees respectively, with Standard and Speed movement control and adjustable pan/tilt speed for matching cue timing across a rig. The fixture uses a compact short-arc metal halide lamp (base PGJX28), approved model OSRAM Lok-it! HTI 1700/PS, with a stated lifetime of 750 hours at 1700 W, 1500 W, or Quiet mode. The ballast is electronic, with automatic and remote lamp on/off control. Color temperature is specified at 6.000 K.
