ETC EOS 8000

These consoles are on firmware 2.9.3. They are on Windows XP and cannot be upgraded. They show signs of heavy wear but are in good working condition.

The ETC Eos 8000 is a professional lighting control console built to run fully integrated shows with conventional fixtures and multiparameter devices (including moving lights, color scrollers, and gobo wheels). Designed around a shared programmer and designer workflow, Eos uses a consistent syntax for moving light control, helping crews build a common vocabulary for faster programming and cleaner updates during rehearsals and run.

Designed for Conventional and Moving Light Workflows

Eos is designed from conception as a fully integrated controller for conventional lights and multiparameter devices (for example: moving lights, color scrollers, gobo wheels). Attention to detail across all areas of the system design and architecture allows you the utmost flexibility and customization of use. Eos allows designers and programmers to develop a mutual vocabulary for moving light control. This implementation of simple and uniform syntax for moving light control provides a solid foundation for both experienced and inexperienced moving light users. Integrated LCD touchscreens are customizable to each user’s preference.

Control Capacity and Playback

Built for larger rigs and multi-universe environments, the Eos 8000 supports 8192 outputs/parameters and 5000 control channels, along with partitioned control for dividing responsibilities across a team. Playback is optimized for live operation with a master playback pair on motorized 100mm faders, plus ten additional 100mm motorized faders with 100 pages for flexible configuration as faders, submasters, masters, and grandmaster control.

Displays, Direct Selects, and Hands-On Parameter Control

Two full-size LCD touchscreens provide display, direct selection, and context-sensitive control, complemented by LCD direct selects with tactile response for faster selection in show conditions. A dedicated context-sensitive LCD touchscreen with six associated force-feedback encoders supports hands-on non-intensity parameter control. The Central Information Area (CIA) provides access to tools such as an electronic alpha keyboard, Hue + Saturation color picker, gel picker, browser, and other controls.

Palettes, Presets, Effects, and Views

Eos includes four discrete palette types (IFCB), with presets functioning as an “all palette” option for building reusable looks quickly. Effects provide dynamic relational and absolute progressive behavior for movement, color, and intensity-based sequences. For tracking and organization, the console offers a configurable high-density channel display (with format and flexi-channel modes), user configurable topographical channel views, and list views of all record targets.

Networking, Import, and Integration

For system connectivity, Eos supports ETCNet2 and Net3 (powered by ACN) network output protocols. Show import is available from Obsession, Express, Expression, Emphasis, Congo, and Strand 500/300 Series via ASCII. Integration options include multiple MIDI and/or SMPTE Time Code inputs, MIDI through and output, and analog/serial inputs. A Virtual Media Server function supports pix mapped effects, images, and animations.

Multi-User Operation

With support for 12 discrete users and partitioned control, the console is suited to venues and productions where programming, playback, and system management are handled by multiple operators.
