NEW Lightronics RE82L Rack Mount Dimmer

The NEW Lightronics RE82L Rack Mount Dimmer is an 8-channel rack-mount lighting dimmer pack designed for console-controlled stage and architectural lighting in church, theater, school, night club, live performance, and other event applications. It delivers up to 2,400 watts per channel (19,200 watts total), making it a strong fit for multi-circuit rigs where reliable, centralized power control is required.

Console Control with LMX-128

The RE82L is controlled by a lighting console using the LMX-128 control protocol, integrating into systems where LMX-128 is the standard control language. Dimming channels may be reassigned in multiples of 4 channels via switches in the front panel, which helps match the dimmer’s channel layout to your console patch or circuiting without reworking the whole system.

Dim or Relay (Non-Dim) Operation by Channel

Channels A to D and/or channels E to H may be switched to operate in "relay" mode. In relay mode channels are either full on or full off (non-dim) depending on console fader position, which is useful for loads that should not be dimmed, such as certain work lights or effects that require simple switching.

Built-In Protection and Cooling

The unit is overcurrent and overtemperature protected, and fast acting magnetic circuit breakers help protect connected loads and simplify troubleshooting when a circuit is pushed beyond its limit. A fan is used to ensure proper cooling for sustained operation in rack environments.

Power and Compliance

Designed for 120/240V, 80 Amp service, the RE82L supports common venue power configurations while maintaining a compact rack-mount form factor. It is UL-508 compliant for added confidence in professional and installed environments.
