NEW Lightronics RD82 Rack Mount Dimmer

The Lightronics RD82 is a 19,200 Watt, 8 channel, rack mount lighting dimmer designed for reliable control in church, stage, theater, school, night club, live performances, and other event and artistic lighting applications. Each channel is rated for 2400 Watts, making it well-suited for handling multiple lighting loads from a single 19-inch rack location.

Control Protocols and System Integration

The RD82 is controlled via low voltage signals and supports LMX-128 (3 wire multiplex) or USITT DMX-512 for compatibility with many lighting consoles and control systems. Channels may be independently assigned from the unit, and onboard softpatch capability helps simplify addressing and setup when integrating into an existing rig.

Power, Protection, and Operating Modes

Built for demanding installations and shows, the unit is fan cooled and includes over temperature and over voltage protection. Each channel has a fast acting magnetic circuit breaker, providing straightforward, per-channel protection and reset capability. Channels can be configured for dim or non-dim operation by channel, supporting both traditional incandescent dimming and switched power needs (such as certain effects or non-dimmable loads).

Built-In Playback and Compliance

The RD82 includes 8 chases for simple, standalone effects and is rated for 120/240V, 80 Amp operation. It is UL-508 compliant.
