Ayrton Khamsin S is a compact LED profile moving head designed for scenic lighting in large venues, delivering powerful metallic white light and a flexible feature set for precise beam shaping, texturing, and aerial effects. Built around a proprietary 13-lens optical system with a 158 mm front lens, it provides an 8:1 zoom range from 7° to 58° for everything from tight projection to wide coverage, with a uniform flat beam and consistent color mixing.
Optics, Output, and Camera-Friendly Performance
Khamsin S uses a high-output white LED engine with total luminaire output up to 40,000 lumens, and is specified with color temperature outputs of 7000 K and 6800 K, plus flicker-free source management suited to TV applications and recorded events. The tempered, anti-reflective coated lenses support clean projection and smooth zooming, and the electronic dimmer provides 0 to 100% adjustment without color shift.
Color Mixing and Beam Control
The fixture includes a CMY color mixing system paired with variable CTO for fast color temperature correction, plus a fixed color wheel with six complementary colors for expanded looks. For beam shaping, the framing module provides four individually positionable shutter blades that can cover 100% of the beam surface in all positions, with framing system rotation of +/- 45° to keep cuts aligned to the scene.
Gobos and Effects for Texture and Motion
For projection and animation, Khamsin S features two indexable rotating gobo wheels (6 high-precision HD glass gobos each, plus open) with adjustable-speed rotation in both directions. Gobo specs are 34.0 mm diameter, 24.0 mm image diameter, and 1.1 mm thickness. The effects section also includes a focusable graphic animation wheel with continuous rotation, a fast 15-blade iris (15% to 100% open) with dynamic effects, two frost filters (light and heavy), and two rotating/indexable prisms (5-facet circular and 4-facet linear). A strobe function supports 1 to 25 flashes per second.
Movement, Accuracy, and Physical Specs
High-resolution stepper motors with microprocessor control support smooth, accurate movement, with 8- or 16-bit operation, pan/tilt automatic repositioning, and a movement range of 540° pan and 270° tilt. The fixture measures 494 x 778 x 280 mm (L x H x D) and weighs 39.8 kg (87.74 lbs).
