The Martin MAC Viper Wash is a full-range wash luminaire designed for professional stage, broadcast, and event lighting where you need high output, smooth zooming, and consistent color across the beam. With 33,000 lumens and a 6000K source (CRI >85), it delivers a bright, clean wash suited to front light, key light, and large-area coverage.

Light Output, Zoom, and Beam Control

The MAC Viper Wash maintains near full efficiency throughout the zoom range, with no visible beam jump when zooming from tight to wide, which helps keep looks consistent during live cues. The fast, continuous 1:5 motorized zoom lets you go from focused coverage to wide washes without changing fixtures or positions. Focus is motorized, with range varying by zoom angle (from 2 m / 6 m to infinity, approx.).

Color Mixing and Color Temperature

CMY color mixing (0 to 100% independently variable) provides vibrant mixing and a broad palette including true reds, rich ambers, primary green, and deep blues. A linear CTO system (variable 6000 to 3200 K) supports daylight-to-tungsten matching and expands the CMY palette for smoother white balance in mixed rigs and camera environments.

Movement, Dimming, and Effects

Built for dynamic rigs, it offers 540° pan and 268° tilt with an absolute position monitoring system for reliable position correction. The combined mechanical dimmer/shutter supports 0 to 100% continuous dimming, instant open/blackout, smooth fades, and diverse strobe, pulse, and random effects, with a choice of four dimming curves for different show styles.

Control, Standards, and System Integration

The fixture supports 18/24 DMX channels with 16-bit control for dimmer, pan, and tilt, and complies with USITT DMX512-A and RDM (ANSI/ESTA E1.20) for remote addressing and status feedback. Addressing is available via the onboard control panel (backlit graphic display with jog wheel) or via DMX. Firmware updates can be performed via USB memory device or USB/DMX hardware interface over the DMX link.

Lamp and Electrical

It uses a 1000 W short-arc discharge lamp with electronic ballast (PGJX36 socket), with an average lifetime of 750 hours. Approved lamps include Osram Lok-it! 1000/PS Brilliant, Osram Lok-it! 1000W/PS VS1, and Philips MSR Gold MiniFastFit 1000W.
