NEW Obsidian Netron RP2 2-Channel DMX Relay 16A

The Obsidian NETRON RP2 is an intelligent, 2-channel DMX power relay designed to protect lighting fixtures from damage, reduce power consumption, and minimize overall wear and tear in permanent installs and touring rigs. It is configurable via the integrated OLED display and encoder, providing real-time status plus power consumption feedback.

Automated fixture power control from DMX and RDM

RP2 features optional smart power sequencing and DMX traffic detection, enabling automated relay control based on DMX status. Simply turn the console on or off, and the system will follow along. With RDM support, power and diagnostic information can also be monitored remotely, which is especially useful when the unit is mounted in a rack, on truss, or in an electrical room.

Scheduling for standalone operation

An internal clock allows standalone use of the RP2 or automating the power outputs to specific days and times. For example, a system could be turned off every day at midnight to prevent excessive power on time of devices. The built-in 24-hour / 7-day event scheduler is ideal for venues, architectural systems, and unattended installations where consistent on/off behavior matters.

High-current relays with true power disconnect

Two independent power outputs are controlled by high current dual pole relays, ensuring complete removal of power from the circuit. The RP2 supports 100-240 V nominal (47/63 Hz) and is rated at 16A (USA) / 16A (EU), with support for 208V and Delta power systems for broader compatibility in professional power environments.

Power, voltage monitoring, and logging

Current sensing per output allows power consumption monitoring directly on the display, and the RP2 keeps track of peak power consumption of the ports. Power information can be accessed on the display or remotely monitored over the RDM protocol. Additionally, actual, highest, and lowest voltage received are available for diagnostics, helping troubleshoot undervoltage events, inconsistent feeds, and load changes over time.

Installation-friendly design

A compact, powder-coated metal housing supports surface, truss, DIN-rail, and standalone mounting, making the RP2 easy to integrate into racks, wall panels, or distributed power points. The 1.3-inch OLED display with rotary encoder provides quick setup and clear status at a glance.
