Gefen DVI FM 500 Extender

The Gefen DVI FM 500 Extender is a DVI-to-fiber extender kit designed to place a DVI source and a DVI display far apart while keeping a clean, all-fiber signal path. It connects the DVI sender and receiver over just two LC fiber strands, making it a strong fit for long-distance AV, control rooms, digital signage, and equipment-rack installations where EMI can be a problem.

This kit includes the sender, receiver, and power supplies. They may show signs of heavy wear but are in good working condition.

The DVI-FM500 Extender lets you extend your DVI source up to 5,000 feet away using a 100% fiber optic extension solution. Attractive and compact DVI-to-fiber modules connect to each other via just two LC fiber optic cable strands. Extender units fit neatly behind equipment for a clean installation.

Long-Distance DVI Extension Over Fiber

• Up to 5,000 ft (1500 m) over single-mode (8/125µm or 9/125µm) fiber
• Up to 1,500 ft (450 m) over multi-mode (50 or 62.5µm) fiber
• Fiber provides immunity from electromagnetic interference (EMI), helpful in electrically noisy environments
• Uses (2) Type LC (1 duplex) fiber connectors on both sender and receiver

• Supports DDWG standard for DVI-compliant monitors
• EDID Programming feature enables quick and correct sync of source to display (EDID Program button on sender)
• Fully supports DVI 1.0 and DDC2B via virtual DDC (Input DDC Signal: 5V p-p (TTL))
