NEW Obsidian NX Wing

NEW Obsidian NX Wing is the complementary USB control surface to the Obsidian Control Systems ONYX platform. Based on the NX 2 console the NX Wing utilizes the same rugged design and components with an identical footprint and layout, giving ONYX users a familiar, console-style workflow on a PC.

Through its USB connection the NX2 provides a responsive professional hardware surface to operate ONYX on any PC system without compromises. Any user of ONYX will feel instantly familiar with the NX Wing and no setup or additional installation is required. Simply plug it into a user-provided PC with ONYX and get started instantly.

Hands-on Playback and Programming Workflow

NX Wing is built for fast, tactile control during programming and playback. It features 10 x 60 mm playback faders, each with 4 x function-assignable buttons, plus 8 customizable multi-function keys and a dedicated Playback Select button. A Master Go section provides Go, Pause, Snap and Release controls for cue execution, while the grand master rotary fader and button offer quick overall output control.

For parameter work, the surface includes 4 digital rotary encoders with push function and status LED feedback, paired with a 3.5” RGB touchscreen for parameter groups, effect parameters, fanning and global timings. Blind/HighLight/Last/Next buttons and a full numerical keypad with command keys support efficient data entry and navigation.

Connectivity for DMX, Networking, and Show Control

NX Wing provides extensive connectivity with 4 DMX Ports, MIDI and Timecode ports while unlocking 64 Universes of control when connected to ONYX on a PC. Physical outputs include 4 x DMX / RDM Universe In/Out via 5-pin locking XLR, plus MIDI in/out/thru (MIDI show control, MIDI notes, MIDI timecode) on 5-pin DIN and SMPTE Timecode In/Out on 3-pin XLR.

For modern network-based distribution, dual Gigabit ports support Art-Net, sACN and ONYX X-Net. Two DisplayPort outputs (up to 4k) allow external display expansion, while multiple USB ports support storage and peripherals. Additional connections include audio out and mic in on 3.5 mm jacks, and an XLR 12V desk lamp output.
