The Martin MAC Viper Performance is a full-feature framing profile moving head designed for applications that demand precise beam shaping, fast looks, and consistent light output. It delivers an impressive 26,000-lumen punch with a flat, uniform field, while using the same proven 1000-watt lamp platform as the MAC Viper Profile.

Unlike many fixtures in this size and power class, the MAC Viper Performance keeps key creative tools onboard, including an iris and an animation wheel, alongside a framing system and rotating gobos. This makes it a strong fit for theatre, broadcast, corporate events, touring, and houses of worship where repeatable cueing and clean optics matter.

Precision Framing and Repeatable Cues

The framing system uses four shutter blades that individually adjust +/- 30 degrees, and the full module rotates +/- 55 degrees for accurate framing from multiple angles. The exacting design helps repeat cues with high precision, and when fully focused, gobos can be nicely framed with a soft edge for polished stage pictures.

Optics Built for Punch and Flexibility

A 1:5 zoom with fast zoom and auto-linked focus supports quick transitions from tight aerial beams to broader coverage. The 140 mm front lens (a notably large aperture for this segment) contributes to the signature “fat beam” look and strong presence through haze. For texture and softening, a soft frost leaves gobo artwork visible with a beautiful soft edge and includes a linear focus blurring option.

Gobos, Animation, and Beam Effects

The fixture includes five rotating, all-glass gobos with only a slight focal separation to the framing system, helping maintain a clean, usable focus when mixing framing and gobo looks. An animation wheel with continuous bi-directional rotation enables flowing movement effects on cyc, scenic elements, and mid-air looks. For added impact and tiling options, a 4-facet prism provides real beam separation with rotation and index control.

Color, CCT Control, and Effects

CMY color mixing delivers a wide palette, including true reds, rich ambers, primary green, and deep blues, while the 7-slot color wheel adds fixed colors for quick selection. A linear CTO provides daylight-to-tungsten CCT control and expands the CMY palette for camera-friendly and stage-accurate whites. The combined dimmer/shutter system supports intensity effects, instant blackout/open, and smooth fades, and strobe effects can be created using mechanical or electronic control, or in combination.
