The High End Systems Hog 4 Console is a professional lighting control console built to take over for the much loved Wholehog III, bringing updated hardware and performance while keeping the Hog control surface and workflow familiar. If you already know the Hog environment, you can walk up and start programming quickly, and if you are scaling up to more complex shows, the customizable surface helps you tailor the desk to your operators and venue needs.

Familiar Hog workflow, modern hands-on control

The Hog 4 pairs the platform’s robust Hog 4 operating software with a tactile, performance-oriented surface designed for fast programming and playback. Updated controls like new encoders, an assignable jog shuttle wheel, LCD user keys, and motorized faders support quick adjustments and consistent show execution, especially when multiple operators need predictable playback behavior.

Visual programming and customizable user interface

For touch-driven programming, the console includes two internal 17-inch wide screen touchscreens with 10 point multi-touch, plus support for three external monitors or touchscreens when you need more layout space for palettes, editors, and playback views. A total of 48 soft-keys and 12 LCD user keys provide direct access to toolbars and custom commands, helping reduce menu diving during focus sessions or live cues.

Playback power and show control

The Hog 4 is built for demanding cueing and hands-on playback, offering an unlimited number of simultaneous crossfades, ten motorized playback faders, one motorized grand master, and dedicated intensity and rate wheels. The tri axis backlit trackball (with rotary encoder for the third axis and four configurable buttons) supports fast cursor and parameter control, useful for both programming and live busking.

Connectivity for single-console to networked systems

Connectivity is designed to fit everything from compact setups to large multi-console rigs. The console provides three monitor outputs, MIDI input and output ports, eight USB ports (for Wholehog wings and external touchscreens), and two Fast Ethernet ports on a rugged Neutrik Ethercon connector. It also includes Hog-Net and Fixture-Net Ethernet connectors, supporting networked expansion and workflows such as multi-console setups with full network backups.

Built-in processing and touring-ready design

With the built in DMX Processor 8000, integrated keyboard, internal hard disk drive, and internal CD/DVD drive, the console is prepared for day-to-day production needs without relying on additional peripherals. Practical touches like storage space beneath the arm rest, dimmable desklights and feedback LEDs, and an integrated dimmable worklight help keep sessions efficient in dark booths and backstage environments. Auto-ranging mains input (90-250VAC) supports operation across a wide range of power systems.
