This 5-pin XLR snake is designed for long-distance DMX data distribution where multiple lines need to be routed cleanly from FOH to stage, between truss positions, or through installed conduit paths. The flexible construction helps with faster load-ins and cleaner cable management, while the durable, flame retardant matte black PVC jacket is suited to high-traffic production environments.
Signal Integrity and Cable Construction
To support reliable data transmission over extended distances, the snake uses foamed polyethylene insulation and 22AWG twisted pairs made from tinned copper. A full-coverage aluminum/mylar shield (100% coverage) helps reduce interference, and the 22AWG tinned-copper drain wire supports consistent shielding performance.
