NEW Hubbell L5-20P 125V B&W cable-mount plug, designed for building or repairing cordsets that require a NEMA L5-20P locking connection. This package of 20 is well-suited for maintenance teams, electricians, and OEM applications where consistent, repeatable terminations are needed.
Application and Compatibility
This plug uses a 2-pole, 3-wire grounding wiring scheme and is rated 20A at 125V AC, making it appropriate for L5-20 locking receptacle systems. It accommodates #12 AWG conductors (20A) and provides clear terminal identification in accordance with UL 498 (X, Y, Z, White, Green) to help reduce wiring mistakes during installation.
Construction Details
Built in the Hubbell Insulgrip style, the plug features a durable black nylon housing with black/white device color styling. Internal components include a natural white nylon blade holder, brass blades, and a clear polycarbonate terminal retainer. Hardware is specified for service use, including multi-drive terminal screws (#10-32 brass, with white finish on neutral screw when used), a green-finish ground screw (#10-32 brass), and zinc-plated steel multi-drive body and cord-clamp screws.
Cord Fit and Strain Relief
Designed for round portable service cords as defined in UL Standard 62 (and CSA C22.2 No. 49), the cord clamp accepts cord diameters from .360 in. to .930 in. (9 to 24 mm), providing broad compatibility across common cord types used in 20A applications.
