The ETC Nomad Puck 1,024 Channels is an ETC-provided and supported mini-computer built for PC-based lighting control, designed for programmers and venues that want the flexibility of software control without relying on a general-purpose laptop. Because the unit is locked down so no software other than ETC applications can be installed, it helps reduce the risk of unwanted apps, distractions, or configuration changes during show programming and playback.

If you enjoy the concept of PC-based lighting control, but worry about the risk, don't want your laptop to walk away from a venue, or are concerned that someone on your crew would try to play video games or browse the Internet when they should be programming, this dedicated Puck format keeps the control computer focused on show-critical tasks. ETCnomad Puck 512 also makes a very cost-effective, highly portable Remote Video Interface.

Connections and Hardware

A small but powerful control device, Puck has one HDMI video port (DVI adapters can be used if needed), one Mini Display Port (Mini DP to HDMI adaptor included), one network port and four USB ports. This is a Windows 7 unit; as such, multi-touch displays are supported.

Network and Control Compatibility

ETCnomad Puck 1024 supports common entertainment lighting network protocols, including Net3/ACN/sACN and ArtNet (note that Net2 protocol is not supported). It is compatible with DMX/RDM Gateways (Net3), Show Control Gateway, I/O Gateway, Eos Programming Wing, Eos Motorized Fader Wing 10 or 20, Eos Fader Wing 20 or 40, iRFR, iRFR Preview and aRFR, and ETCpad (ETC Portable Access Device). For local DMX/RDM output, it supports the ETC Gadget II USB-to-DMX/RDM converter, with up to four units connected for a total of four local outputs. Third-party USB-MIDI panels are also supported via Direct MIDI.
