The Obsidian NX4 Console is a comprehensive, feature-packed ONYX lighting control surface built for programmers who need dense playback access in a compact footprint. With a well-arranged combination of motorized and manual faders plus a wide array of playback buttons, the NX4 delivers 44 total playbacks while retaining a full command and keypad section for fast, familiar show control.

Hands-on playback control for fast show operation

Two independent playback sections offer instant access. The main playback with 10 motorized faders plus 10 play-pairs allows for quick page changes while the sub playback with 12 faders and 12 button playbacks keeps priority cues and looks at the user’s fingertips. Digital backlit labels and assignable buttons help reduce page hunting during busking, rehearsal, or live event operation.

ONYX workflow with touchscreen and dedicated encoders

NX4 includes a high-brightness full HD multi-touch screen, an assistive 3.5-inch RGB mini touch-screen, 8 assignable parameter encoders, a dedicated intensity encoder, an industrial trackball, plus Blind/Highlight/Last/Next keys and a dedicated grand master. This layout supports quick selection, parameter adjustment, and timing changes without constantly shifting between screen menus, especially useful when building looks, running effects, and refining palettes on the fly.

Built-in processing power and professional connectivity

Utilizing the latest in industrial components, the NX4 contains a powerful new Intel Hexa-Core processor, a high speed NVMe SSD drive, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Fast boot times, instant operation, and the ability to process 64 Universes right inside the console without the need for costly external processing networks deliver serious capability in this form factor.

With four DMX ports, timecode, MIDI, and dual Gigabit ports for up to 64 Universes of Art-Net, sACN, plus the ONYX X-Net protocol, the NX4 is designed to integrate cleanly into modern lighting networks, from single-console rigs to larger distributed systems. Two additional 4K touch monitors are supported for expanded programming space and direct access to more views when needed.
