The Yamaha PM5D-RH is a full-digital sound reinforcement (SR) mixing console built for demanding live production and installed audio environments that need high channel count, flexible routing, and repeatable setup through scene recall. With 24-bit linear AD/DA conversion delivering up to 110 dB of dynamic range, it is designed to maintain clarity and headroom across complex mixes with multiple sources and monitor sends.

Console Layout and Routing for Live Workflows

As input channels, it provides 48 monaural channels, four stereo channels, and four stereo channels for effect return, making it well-suited for full bands, festivals, broadcast-style inputs, or multi-mic events. As output channels, it provides 24 MIX channels, eight MATRIX channels, and two STEREO channels, supporting monitor mixes, zone feeds, and distributed outputs without external submixing. You can assign desired channels to be controlled by the eight DCA faders on the panel, and use them as group faders, a practical way to manage large mixes quickly during a show.

Recallable Head Amp Control (PM5D-RH Model)

In addition to the standard PM5D model that provides manual control of the head amp for each input, the PM5D-RH model provides programmable control of head amp input sensitivity and phantom power settings. The PM5D-RH adds head-amp recall capability that allows head amp gain settings to be recalled along with the other console scene data, which is especially useful for touring, multi-band changeovers, and any production where consistent recall between scenes matters.

Built-In Processing and Expansion Options

The PM5D uses a custom “DSP7” LSI for ultra-high-speed 96-kHz/32-bit processing and includes built-in VCM (Virtual Circuit Modeling) effects for classic-style processing tones. For day-to-day mix utility, it also provides 8 multi-effect processors and 12 graphic equalizers. If your system needs more I/O and processing, I/O capacity and functionality can be doubled or tripled by adding one or two rack-mountable DSP5D Digital Mixing Systems. It also supports easy “virtual soundcheck” with individually assignable channels without complex re-patching, helping streamline rehearsal and playback-based tuning.
