The RDL EZ-HSX4 is a compact stereo audio source selector designed to switch between four unbalanced, line-level stereo inputs and feed either a line output (to an amplifier, powered speakers, recorder, or mixer) or the built-in headphone amplifier for monitoring. With a front-panel level control and large interlocking pushbuttons, it is well suited for quick source changes and reliable listening control in retail environments, houses of worship, studios, sound booths, home component systems, and commercial sound systems.

How It Fits Into Your Audio Setup

Connect up to four stereo sources to the rear-panel RCA inputs, then route the selected source to your downstream gear using the rear RCA line output. For simple monitoring at a desk or rack position, plug headphones into either the 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) jack or the mini headphone jack on the front panel. The headphone output follows the front-panel level control for convenient listening adjustments.

Switching and Control

The EZ-HSX4 uses solid-state audio switching, and switch noise cannot affect signal quality. Full-size, interlocking front-panel pushbuttons make selection straightforward, and the easy-to-push large buttons help prevent accidental multi-source selection.

Outputs and Gain Options

The rear-panel line output can be set to fixed (unity gain) for consistent output level, or variable so the line output follows the front-panel level control. This flexibility makes the EZ-HSX4 useful both as a four-input headphone amplifier and as a source selector feeding an associated audio amplifier.
