The Extron USB Extender Plus R Receiver extends and switches USB signals from peripheral devices to a host computer up to 1,980 feet (600m) through a Gigabit Ethernet network or up to 330 feet (100m) point-to-point over one CATx cable. It supports USB 2.0 through 1.0 devices with data rates up to 480 Mbps, and it is compatible with USB 3.0 devices that can operate at USB 2.0 data rates, making it a practical choice for remote USB access in classrooms, conference rooms, labs, and control-room environments.
Extended USB Connectivity Over Ethernet or CATx
Use the receiver to place USB peripherals where they are needed without relocating the host computer. Over a Gigabit Ethernet network, it can be routed through standard network infrastructure, while point-to-point mode supports up to 330 feet (100m) on a single CATx cable for straightforward installs.
Integrated 4-Port Active USB Hub
The receiver features a built-in, active four-port hub allowing simultaneous connection to multiple peripheral devices such as the Extron Annotator 300, mass storage devices, keyboards, mice, or other HID (Human Interface Devices). Each port provides 5 Volts, 500 mA, helping support commonly used bus-powered devices at the endpoint.
USB Performance, Reliability, and System Control
- Supports USB transfers up to 480 Mbps, enabling bulk, control, interrupt, and isochronous transfers as defined by the USB specification.
- Peripheral emulation maintains a continuous connection between the host and an HID-compliant keyboard and mouse for increased system reliability.
- Real-time status LED indicators provide visual confirmation of port activity between an active host and each connected peripheral device.
- A USB switching controller lets you create small or large USB switching systems, with configurations using up to 64 USB Extender Plus transmitters and receivers managed by one controller, and supporting serial or IP commands for control system integration.
