For environments where downtime is not an option, the PT-DZ870U includes Lamp Relay mode, which eliminates interruptions if a lamp fails and allows constant projections. The projector uses dual 420W UHM lamps, rated up to 3,000 hours (and up to 8,000 hours in Eco mode).

Integration is straightforward with a broad connection panel that includes HDMI, DVI digital input, HD-SDI (BNC), HDBaseT (RJ-45), composite (BNC), RGB in (BNC), and VGA (Dsub-15pin).
