The VARI❋LITE VL1000 ERS luminaire combines the familiar beam control and crisp imaging of an ellipsoidal reflector spotlight with the flexibility of an automated fixture for theatre, broadcast, and live events. With CYM color mixing, rotating gobos, variable diffusion, and a zoom system that covers both precise special work and wider washes, it is designed for rigs that need fast changes without sacrificing shuttering and focus control.
The VL1000TS delivers 10,000 lumens with the consistent color temperature of a tungsten source (3200K). This model includes an automated, four-blade shutter mechanism that provides control of all shutter functions popular in conventional ellipsoidal reflector spotlights, making it well suited for framing doors, scenery, and performers while keeping cues repeatable.
Optics and Beam Control
Continuously variable zoom optics provide a field angle from 19° to 36° for normal imaging, plus a programmable super zoom range out to 70°. Super zoom timing can be programmed from 2 seconds to 20 minutes, which supports anything from quick focus transitions to slow, cue-based beam changes. Field or gobo diffusion can be adjusted smoothly to soften edges and convert the fixture into a controlled wash when needed.
Color and Gobo System
A fully cross-fading CYM color mixing system enables smooth color transitions. All motors utilize a noise reducing 50kHz drive system that quiets operation during movement and also while static. The rotating gobo wheel offers six positions, including five rotatable and indexable gobo slots plus open (patterns are not included with the fixture).
Framing, Movement, and Rigging
The four-blade shutter system can frame and crop beam field and gobos. Each shutter can translate to beam center and rotate ±35°, and the entire shutter module rotates ±45° for clean alignment. Pan and tilt use three-phase, ultra quiet stepper motors with encoder correction for smooth, timed motion, with 540° pan, 270° tilt, and 0.1° resolution. The unit will calibrate to support close hangs (yoke-to-yoke).
