The Pathway DMX Repeater series of opto-splitters are an essential component of DMX distribution systems, permitting star-wiring configurations while isolating and protecting equipment from electrical faults. With 8 bi-directional DMX512 ports, this rack-mount unit is designed to cleanly distribute DMX in venues where reliability and fault isolation matter, including theatres, houses of worship, touring racks, broadcast studios, and permanent installs.

RDM hub control and front-panel configuration

RDM Hub models provide Ethernet-type intelligence features on a pure DMX512 network. The front panel allows the unit to be used as an RDM controller, enabling RDM Discovery and end device management without bringing a separate controller to the rack. RDM can be enabled or disabled on a port-by-port basis, which helps you keep sensitive lines strictly DMX-only while still using RDM where it is needed.

Flexible operating modes for real-world DMX workflows

Three modes are supported, including RDM, Merge, and Hub. The unit can merge two controllers without additional equipment and supports priority/HTP behavior, making it useful for architectural or multi-operator systems where you need to combine sources or define which controller takes precedence. It can also automatically switch a console between locations by simply unplugging and replugging the console, which is helpful for changeovers, rehearsal vs. show positions, or temporary control points.

Signal integrity and protection built for the rack

For dependable distribution, the PWREP provides user-configurable DMX output speed and signal loss behavior to better match fixture requirements and system expectations. Gold-plated XLR contacts help maintain consistent connectivity over time. There are no fuses; self-resetting port protection recovers from voltage faults, reducing downtime after miswires or unexpected line issues. Silent, fan-less operation supports noise-sensitive control rooms and performance spaces.
