NEW Moving Light Assistant Software
Description
Moving Light Assistant is an application designed to document both the physical setup and programming information for moving light rigs commonly used in the entertainment industry. Built for practical show workflows, it helps you keep fixture configuration details, wheel loads, and cue documentation organized so you can troubleshoot faster, generate cleaner paperwork, and stay consistent from prep through performance.
The application will run on both Apple Mac OSX (Intel only) and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
This is the Personal Moving Light Assistant. Please email or call us if you are looking for the Institutional or Student versions of the software.
Rig Documentation and Fixture Configuration
Use the spreadsheet view to capture and review fixture configuration across the rig, including lenses, lamps, and menu options. For wheel-based fixtures, you can design and edit gobo, color, and effect wheel loads, then reference those choices while building and maintaining your show file documentation.
Libraries and Console Data Import
An integrated gobo and fixture library supports ongoing customization and updates, helping you keep your documentation aligned with the fixtures and accessories you actually deploy. To reduce manual entry, Moving Light Assistant can import console reports from leading lighting consoles and provides tools to view cue lists, cue data, and channel data. You can also examine channel usage (including maximum intensity, preset use, and redundant moves) to spot inconsistencies and optimize programming choices.
Paperwork, Reporting, and Interoperability
For deliverables, you can design, print, or generate PDF paperwork reports. The software also supports importing and exporting rig data with Lightwright, making it easier to share information between departments and keep your rig documentation synchronized.
Live Show Tracking and Photo Capture
When paired with a compatible setup, you can track the current cue and photographs in the cue list with the lighting console in real time using Midi Show Control. For visual notes and focus documentation, you can take photographs directly into the application with a compatible DSLR camera connected via USB.
